I started making my own comic strips around the same time, and realized I liked putting pictures and words together to tell stories. My favorites were Calvin and Hobbes and For Better or For Worse. I started reading the funnies in my local newspaper, The San Francisco Chronicle, when I was nine. When did you start reading comics? Did you always want to make them?

I hate this series more than most of anything else. I feel as if I am rambling, but the point is, this is a truly amazing manga, and that it should be read right away! In all previous mangas I've read, the mangaka will stick to a few sets of outfits for his characters to wear, but Tite Kubo goes all out! Especially in the filler sketches. The storyline is truly amazing (and still ongoing, might I add) and blew me away! And, even though I don't usually dwell on things like clothes, the clothes are absolutely amazing! All the different designs he's thought up. Even when I thought (after reading the first book) there was no room for Tite Kubo to improve, since he was already such an amazing mangaka. This manga series is absolutely amazing! Anyone considering whether or not to read this manga, read it now! And for those of you currently reading the series but not yet finished with all the books, you will be blown away by Tite Kubo's advancement in skill! The beginning of bleach has amazing artwork, and at the end there's such an incredible improvement in the way he draws the characters. To help you guide you through this list and narrow down which books might be of interest to you, I’ve divvied this list up into three categories: Ghosts & Haunted Houses, Folklore & The Occult, and Possessions & Inexplicable Events. No matter what, all of these books have an extra-creepy edge to them that will have you reading with all the lights on. Today, I’m so excited to share a roundup of my frequently recommended supernatural-ish mysteries and thrillers! Some of these books have true supernatural elements to them, while in others, the supernatural is more of a suggestion or a question to be answered over the course of the story. While I think it will always be important to me as a reader that the crime novels I read, even the supernatural-ish ones, have an earthly, logical solution to the mysteries at their core, I’ve come to discover just how much fun a thriller with a dash of the supernatural can be. Tudor, and many more, I’ve not only become open to books in this category… I’ve actually begun actively seeking them out. If you had told me when I started this blog that I would someday be writing a blog post recommending a few of my personal favorite crime books with some supernatural elements to them, I would have never believed you.
